Let me introduce myself.

Mark de Krosse is the name… pleased to meet you! In 2019, I decided to pursue formal training as a mediator so that I could work as an MfN-registered mediator. The training, combined with over 25 years of experience as a mediator and entrepreneur/CEO in a large family business, provided me with the foundation to continue my path as a mediator.

In addition to the general mediation training, I also completed specialized programs in divorce mediation, family mediation, and workplace mediation. The combination of experience and training enables me to take on a variety of complex mediations.

Throughout my career, I have encountered small and large conflicts in many different ways. Most of these conflicts were in the context of family businesses. On rare occasions, I was a party to the conflict, but more often, I was “called to the table” to help find a solution. It always feels very rewarding when that happens, which left me wanting more. In the end, the step to becoming an MfN-registered mediator wasn’t all that big.

How does it work?

1.

Mediation as a solution for conflicts

The mediation process always begins with a personal introduction. Mediator Assendelft is happy to come to your home. This could also take place at a neutral location, such as Mark’s office. It is important to see if you have a connection with Mark and whether there is a basis of trust. Trust on both sides is essential, as you will be discussing sensitive topics.

Mark will also map out the situation. Are there children involved? Is there a business, a home, or other special circumstances?

2.

During the Conversations

Various topics relevant to the divorce process will be addressed during the conversations, such as debts, assets, and their division. In the case of children, the necessity of a parenting plan becomes clear. This includes where the children will live, arrangements regarding holidays, and how child support will be structured.

Mark, as your mediator in Assendelft, creates an environment where there is space to express all emotions and discuss them openly. The ultimate goal is to achieve fair and sustainable solutions.

3.

The legal documents

Once the substantive discussions are concluded, Mark will draft the agreement. The new arrangements will then be put in writing. The parenting plan is also included.

When all parties agree, the documents are sent to the lawyer. The lawyer checks the legal correctness before the documents can be submitted to the court.

4.

The aftercare

After the last signatures have been signed, the mediation process is complete, and you can be sure that everything is properly documented and legally in order. However, the separation truly begins at this point.

Perhaps the living situation has changed, or do you have mutual friends? A completely new situation arises. That’s why Mark offers the necessary follow-up support. New questions may arise, and then MfN mediator Assendelft will be available to assist you.

Why separate with help of a mediator?

Divorce is complex and likely very emotional. There is a lot to arrange, and you already have so much on your mind. It’s probably a good idea to hire a mediator, so you can be sure that everything is taken care of properly. Here are the main benefits of mediation:

✓ The fee of a mediator is often lower than that of a lawyer.

✓ A mediation process usually consists of three to five meetings lasting two hours each, allowing for a quick resolution. A trip to court can take several months.

✓ Mediation often leads to a normalization of the relationship between the parties, which is usually not the case in litigation.

✓ In mediation, the costs are typically shared by both parties (usually each paying half). Read more about the costs here.

If you want to go for fair and sustainable solutions and find it important that nothing is overlooked, then hire a mediator.

Avoid a contentious divorce.

Unfortunately, contentious divorces do occur. This process often proves to be lengthy and costly, with an uncertain outcome and inherent risks. The atmosphere between the parties rarely improves, and in the end, they seem to find themselves somewhere in the middle.

Avoiding a contentious divorce is of great importance, and mediator Assendelft can provide a solution. Mediation is regarded as a constructive means of communication that addresses conflicts, or better yet, prevents them.

In situations where (ex-)partners cannot reach an agreement, a contentious divorce may arise. This can cause emotional damage with long-lasting effects. Mediation places specific emphasis on the well-being of the (ex-)partners and any children involved. By reaching an agreement together, the emotional burdens for all parties involved are minimized.

You likely want to avoid unnecessary conflicts or even a contentious divorce. Do not hesitate to contact mediator Assendelft: Mark de Krosse.
