Let me introduce myself
Hello, my name is Mark de Krosse. In 2019, I decided to pursue formal training as a mediator and became an MfN-registered mediator. With over 25 years of experience as a mediator and entrepreneur/managing director in a large family business, I have a strong foundation for my work as a mediator.
In addition to the general mediation training, I have further specialized in divorce, family, and labor mediation. These specializations, combined with my experience, enable me to handle various and complex mediations.
Throughout my career, I have encountered many conflicts, often within business families. Sometimes I was a party involved, but most of the time I was asked to help find a solution. The success of resolving these conflicts has inspired me to continue as an MfN-registered mediator.

How does it work?
1.
Mediation as a tool for solutions
The mediation process begins with an introduction, where Mark is happy to come to your home. This introduction can also take place at a neutral location, such as his office. This serves as a starting point for the mediation process, where building trust is central. Establishing trust is essential, especially since the discussions often involve sensitive topics. Open and honest communication is much easier when a foundation of trust has been laid.
Mediator Hillegom takes ample time to understand your specific situation. Are there children involved? Are there matters such as a business, a purchased home, or do you need to arrange pension issues? Mark is ready to guide and support you from A to Z throughout this emotionally challenging and complex period.
2.
The process
Then the second phase of the mediation process begins. This is when the substantive discussions start. During this period, various topics will arise. Mediator Hillegom uses a comprehensive checklist to ensure nothing is overlooked.
A parenting plan, the division of assets and debts must be addressed. And what about the pension? Mark will help you make arrangements. With an objective and neutral attitude, he provides the necessary assistance.
3.
The legal documents
After completing the substantive discussions, Mark takes the next step by drafting the settlement agreement. All newly made arrangements, including the parenting plan, are carefully documented.
Once all parties involved have given their consent, the documents are handed over to the lawyer. This specialist checks the legal correctness of the drafted documents before they are submitted to the court.
4.
Aftercare
Once the last signatures are in place, the mediation process is complete. However, this is just the beginning for the (ex-)partners. A period in which many new situations arise. The place of residence and daily rhythm can be quite a lot. Shared friends or a new job, there are likely all sorts of new circumstances. Perhaps you still have questions? Mark offers the necessary aftercare; mediator Hillegom is here for you.

After the final signatures have been placed, the process is complete.
The finances
Regarding the financial aspects of a divorce, a mediator provides extensive support by starting with a review of the marriage conditions and cohabitation contracts.
Advice from a notary may also be sought.Next, all assets and debts are meticulously inventoried.
Important topics that come up include alimony, the division of the home, bank accounts, insurance, shares, loans, and any businesses. The costs of divorce are also discussed in detail.
A significant aspect is the division of pension rights, which follows the law on pension rights equalization, although alternative arrangements are also negotiable.
Mediator Hillegom ensures that all financial matters are handled carefully, so that both parties encounter no surprises after the divorce.
With the support of an experienced mediator, the divorce process is significantly facilitated.
Why divorce with a mediator?
Divorce is a significant challenge; you are already dealing with many things at once, and considerable changes are ahead. Engaging a mediator Hillegom can be particularly valuable. This way, you are assured of careful arrangements for all matters. Here are the benefits:
✓ The costs of a mediator are lower than those of a lawyer.
✓ A mediation process often only involves three to five two-hour sessions, allowing for a quick conclusion. In comparison, a (contested) divorce through lawyers can take months.
✓ Mediation often helps improve the relationship between the involved parties, unlike a court case.
✓ The costs of mediation are shared by both parties (usually half each).
If you aim for fair and sustainable solutions and find it important that nothing is overlooked, hiring a mediator is a wise choice.
