Allow me to introduce myself:

Mark de Krosse is the name… pleased to meet you! In 2019, I decided to pursue formal training as a mediator so that I could work as an MfN-registered mediator. The training, combined with over 25 years of experience as a mediator and entrepreneur/CEO in a large family business, provided me with the foundation to continue my career as a mediator.

In addition to the general mediation training, I have also completed specialized courses in divorce mediation, family mediation, and labor mediation. The combination of experience and education enables me to tackle various and complex mediations.

Throughout my career, I have dealt with various small and large conflicts in different ways. Most conflicts were within the business family sphere. Sometimes I was a party involved, but mostly I was “called to the table” to help find a solution. It always feels very good when that happens, and it made me want to do more. The step to work as an MfN-registered mediator was ultimately not a very big one.

How does it work?

1.

Mediation as a tool for solutions

The starting point of the mediation process almost always involves an informal introduction. The mediator in Uithoorn is happy to come to your home. It is important to discover if there is a connection with Mark and whether a solid foundation of trust can be established. Since sensitive matters are discussed, trust is essential among all parties involved.

Mark will also map out your specific situation. Are there children involved? Is there a business, a house, or other special circumstances? This is a thorough exploration to gain a clear understanding of all factors that could influence the mediation process.

2.

The process

An average mediation process consists of three to five sessions of about two hours each. During the sessions, various issues are discussed. What debts or assets are there, and how will they be divided? In the case of children, drafting a parenting plan is crucial. Questions regarding their residence, vacations, and a support arrangement must be thoroughly addressed.

The mediator in Uithoorn creates a safe environment where expressing emotions is encouraged. It is essential to have enough space to express all feelings. Meeting at a neutral location can be convenient. Ultimately, we strive for fair and sustainable solutions, where it is crucial that all aspects are fully discussed.

3.

The legal documents

After completing the substantive discussions, Mark takes the next step by drafting the agreement. All newly made arrangements, including the parenting plan, are carefully documented.

Once all parties have given their consent, the documents are handed over to the lawyer. This specialist checks the legal correctness of the drafted documents before they are submitted to the court.

4.

Aftercare

Once the final signatures are in place, the mediation process is successfully completed. However, this is when it truly begins for the (ex)-partners. A “new era” in which many new situations may arise.

A new residence and a different daily routine is quite a lot to handle. Shared friends or a new job. Perhaps you still have questions? Mark offers the necessary aftercare; the mediator in Uithoorn is here for you.

The parenting plan

A parenting plan is essential when children are involved in a divorce. A parenting plan consists of agreements made by the (ex)-partners regarding a structured arrangement for the care and upbringing of the children.

This plan records various essential agreements, including the children’s residence, arrangements for vacations, and the distribution of parental responsibilities. It also determines how decisions about the health, education, and other important aspects of a child’s life will be made. For example, it may include specific schedules for parental involvement, such as weekend arrangements and holidays.

The parenting plan provides a framework that helps parents create a stable environment for their children despite changes in the family situation.

Mediator Uithoorn, Mark, will draft the plan for you and ensure it is legally sound. It is a legal instrument to fall back on in case disagreements arise over the arrangements. Leave nothing to chance and contact Mark.

Why divorce with a mediator?

A divorce is quite a significant event. You are dealing with many things at once and need to make new arrangements. Engaging the mediator in Uithoorn can be particularly valuable. This creates structure, and you are assured of a careful arrangement of all matters. Here are the benefits:

✓ The costs of a mediator are lower than those of a lawyer.

✓ A mediation process typically involves only three to five sessions of two hours, allowing it to be completed quickly. A (contested) divorce through lawyers can take months in comparison.

✓ Mediation often contributes to improving the relationship between the involved parties, unlike a lawsuit.

✓ The costs of mediation are shared by both parties (usually half each). Read more about the costs here.

If you are striving for fair and sustainable solutions and it is important that nothing is overlooked, engaging a mediator is a wise choice.
